The Biden Administration/Democratic Party recently announced new benefits for the middle class in America. It will save millions of workers billions of dollars in extra income.
Biden raised the threshold for overtime rules. Any employee who makes less than $58,000/year must be given overtime wages (time and one-half for overtime work). Previously the threshold was only $35,000. Many employers designated their workers as “managers” in order to avoid paying overtime to workers.
This benefit to workers means a higher income and/or less time working overtime and more time with family and personal needs. Less stress, less anxiety and improvements in physical and mental health. Republicans always opposed raising the overtime threshold. They always side with employers. Clearly, the GOP does not deserve the working-class vote in November!
