On election day, the working class in America lost BIG! Voters demanded dynamic change in America and they got it. But unfortunately, change will NOT mean better economic times for American workers with the total and complete victory by Trump/Republican Party. Now the GOP have all the power to legislate and execute their extremist policies that benefit the rich at the expense of workers and consumers. It’s now official, the Republican Party has complete control over America. They control the House of Representatives, the Senate, the White House and the US Supreme Court. AND they control the majority of Statehouses across America.
What will the GOP do with its massive power? What are their priorities?
1. Massive tax cuts again for the rich with a pittance to the working class.
2. Deregulation that harm workers, consumers and our environment.
3. World wide tariffs on most international products. Thus launching a trade war. INFLATION!
4. Restrictive laws attacking labor unions.
5. Reducing the size of government, thus major cuts in benefits to workers like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, support for families with children, college aide, college debt relief.
6. Massive deportation of millions of immigrants. This will be extremely disruptive of the US economy and cause much higher prices/inflation. Immigrants dominate work in the construction and agriculture industry.
Clearly, the working class must galvanize their resolve to demand major improvement in every aspect of their life like wages/benefits, childcare support, consumer protection, college/trade school support and the ability to create labor unions. My work and focus on the working class will expand and spread to address these compelling issues. Expect major initiatives going forward with the Democratic Party and non-profits. The working class demand a much larger piece of the economic pie we help create! It’s fair, it’s moral and it’s about time!
