The biggest supporter of the working class has always been government, especially government when controlled by the Democratic Party. Just look at the impressive legacy record of Democratic accomplishments from FDR to the Biden Administration.
Democrats proposed and passed Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment benefits, minimum wage laws, the 40-hour work week, over-time rules, aid for college, Obama Care and major support for families with children.
Republicans have and continue to oppose most if not all of these working class benefits.
Now that the Federal Government has been overtaken by the rich/by the Republican Party, who will assist, support, defend and protect the working class in America? They have no lobbyist. They don’t have the financial resources of the rich. They have no power position within the Trump transition team. Only billionaires, Wall Street, the fossil fuel industry, Hedge Fund executives have met with Trump/GOP at his extravagant gold-plated mansion at Mar-a-Lago. Where are the union leaders? Where are those that support consumers? where are those entities that will benefit the working class?
Clearly, the working class are NOT the focus of attention in the new Trump/GOP administration. Republicans are working with billionaires like Elon Musk and Ramaswamy to divvy up the largess in government. The one asset the working class have is massive numbers. But they must work together and return government to the people, not the rich and powerful.
