American working-class has the least benefits than the vast majority of developed nations of the world. We work the longest hours, have the least amount of vacation time, don’t have free parental leave with a new child, don’t have heavy subsidies or free college/trade school education, lack robust child-care support, don’t have universal health care, have among the lowest minimum wage …etc.
In contrast Corporate America has RECORD profits, RECORD stock prices and RECORD executive pay. They have accumulated so much profits, they don’t know what to do with it thus RECORD stock buy-backs! On average one TRILLION dollars a year spent on purchasing their stock. Those excessive profits represent savings they achieved by raising prices of their products AND paying low wages with diminishing benefit packages to its employees. Clearly, rich individuals and large corporations have massive power over its workers and consumers. And this will get even worse with the emerging Trump/Republican administration stacked with multimillionaire/billionaire cabinet members/advisors!
