1. Trump/GOP have introduced a new tax called “Tariffs”. One of their core initiatives is a spike in tariffs on international products. This will raise prices for consumers and cause higher inflation. Will our dollar stores become $2 or $3 dollar stores? Will our cell phones cost more? Any product produced overseas including cars and electronics and household products will jump in their price. It’s a tax. A new federal sales tax.
2. At the same time Trump has tossed out a proposal to eliminate federal income taxes which is the fairest way to generate revenue for essential governmental services. To replace the revenue, it appears Trump/GOP will suggest extensive use of tariffs around the world which could generate substantial revenue, but tariffs are regressive/unfair taxes on the working-class. The rich LOVE such a concept since they would benefit immensely by NOT paying a federal income tax.
3. The pattern of the emerging Republican Administration is becoming quite clear. Republicans support the rich. They have NOTHING that helps the working class. Most actions appear to show harm to consumers via higher prices/rising inflation. It appears the rich/Wall Street executives own and control the White House at the peril of consumers and the working-class.
